The IEEE Power & Energy Society Student Branch Chapter of Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology is a collaborative effort from the attendees of our college, irrespective of year and branch of study. We have gathered a cluster of talented individuals under the banner of the discipline engineering, maintaining focus on the field of Power and Energy. Being one of the most active student branch chapters in Kerala, our PES SBC conducts a good number of quality events as frequently as possible. We have conducted several events that range from college level to international since January 2020, which was the month in which our SBC was created.
TechRev was an interactive session on the basics of electronics, diving into the core concepts surrounding the subject. The event also included an industrial visit to ATWIC R&D, a startup owned by our speaker for the day Mr. Rahul Sivan.
Given here is an image of classes being conducted on the general working and maintenance of electric vehicles. The class was handled by Mr. Sarath Babu of Popular Hyundai, introducing to the students the advancements in EV's through the vehicle Hyundai Kona.
After the seminar on Electric Vehicles, participants were given a hands on experience of how EV's operate. They were shown how an EV is practically silent and given an under the hood view of the car, providing explanations regarding the components used in the manufacture of this EV.
For this event, we had arranged the arrival of the latest EV release of that time, the Hyundai Kona, to our college. Given here is a picture that was taken after the event, consisting of the participants and coordinators of the event along with Mrs. Pratibha PK, the faculty advisor of the IEEE PES SBC RSET.

As a part of celebrating PES DAY 2021, Women in Power community of the IEEE PES SBC RSET is here with an event to clear out all your misconceptions about women in STEM and hopefully give you an insight into the many opportunities that are open to women.

Mercy Chelangat is currently the Women in Power lead of Region 8( Africa, Europe and Middle East). She is the founder and host of The Tech-Gaa Hub and the Business and Fund Development Director at IEEE Smart Village. She is also a recepient of IEEE Region 8 Women in Engineering Clementina Saduwa Award 2019.
